WHAT DRIVES INDIA’S FINANCIAL INTEGRATION?

We explore the determinants of Financial Integration (FI) in Indian context from 1996Q2-2018Q4. Using a newly constructed quarterly financial integration index based on stock external assets and liabilities position range econometric methodologies, we find that structural factor (trade openness) an institutional (institutional quality) drive India. Our findings also show importance exchange rate volatility, global growth rate, interest determining India’s integration.
